Ross was probably best known on the national and international stamp stage as a Scandinavian collector and exhibitor, garnering top prizes for his Swedish exhibits. Locally, he was a long-time member of Scandinavian Collectors Club #14 and a volunteer on the Minnesota Stamp Expo committee. He quipped that over his tenure with the Minnesota Stamp Expo, he probably held just about every role there was.
For many years, Ross's careful and thoughtful stewardship of the exhibiting portion of the Minnesota Stamp Expo ensured there were numerous exhibits entered, they were properly handled and displayed, received the awards and recognition earned as decided by the exhibition jury, and were carefully returned to the exhibitors after the show. Ross also made a point of encouraging others to try their hand at exhibiting, thus ensuring a continued legacy of exhibiting at the show.
